Summit Nanotech
Norman Wong has worked in various roles since 2006. Norman began their career at AGAT Laboratories as an Analyst in the Environmental Division, where they were responsible for sample login and inorganic soil analysis. In 2012, they began their Doctoral Candidate role at the University of Calgary, where they investigated organosulfonate and phosphonate Metal-Organic Frameworks for potential application as fuel cell electrolytes. In 2017, they began working at PurLucid Treatment Solutions as a Senior Chemist, where they carried out R&D of lithium extraction technologies and wastewater treatment processes, as well as assisted with construction and commissioning of pilot-scale water treatment units. That same year, they also began working at the University of Calgary as a Reader/Demonstrator, where they assisted course instructors with coaching and mentoring of graduate student teaching assistants, and lead/instructed undergraduate students in small laboratory courses. In 2020, they joined Summit Nanotech as a Technical Research Manager and Technical Research Specialist.
Norman Wong obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Calgary between 2010 and 2017.
Summit Nanotech
Summit Nanotech develops core technologies to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. Summit Nanotech’s first technology, denaLi™ DLE technology (direct lithium extraction), provides extraction as a service (EaaS) using plug-and-play modular units for the cleanest and most efficient lithium extraction technology in the world. Summit’s denaLi™ modular units are designed to double yield, reduce GHG emissions, minimize the use of chemicals and fresh water, and cut waste by 90% compared to traditional methods, surpassing global ESG standards. In addition, Summit's denaLi™ H technology is being developed to recover lithium from lithium-ion battery recycling streams contributing to the circular economy of the future.
