Martha Galovich is the Assistant Vice President/Controller at Summit Re. Martha has over 20 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry.
Martha started their career as an Accounting Manager at First Union National Bank in January 1989. Martha was responsible for developing liaison relationships with the Federal Reserve, deposit systems, corporate compensation, and marketing. This allowed for more timely and accurate explanations of account variances during month-end closings. Martha also supported the conversion of accounting systems and procedures, the resolution of accounting and Reserve requirement concerns, and reporting activity to management. Additionally, they streamlined account analyses and quarterly schedules by developing working timelines.
In December 2010, Martha started working as a Revenue Accounting Analyst at Frontier in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Martha was responsible for bringing cash and accounts receivable reconcilements current after July 2010 conversion, documenting month-to-month variance analysis for revenue accounts, converting journal entry process from existing PeopleSoft general ledger package to Infinium general ledger reporting package. Martha also identified errors in the recording of cash activity for security deposits taken by the company and proposed correcting entries to be made to bring accounts into balance with sub ledgers. In addition, they developed a daily/monthly monitoring process to identify variances between deposits received and those recorded in the database. Finally, Martha took the lead on testing and documenting the new Infinium posting process to be used by the entire Revenue Analysis team.
In January 1993, Martha joined Summit RE where they are currently serving as the Assistant Vice President/Controller.
Martha Galovich has a Master's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Sacred Heart University, as well as a M.A.T in Elementary Education from the same school. Martha also has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where they also earned their B.S in Accounting.
They work with Karen Maxwell - Financial Analyst, Stacey Ray - Accounting Administrator. Their manager is Steve Wolfer, Vice President, CFO.
