Ed Mendones has a diverse work experience spanning different positions and industries. Ed is currently serving as the Vice President of Operations at Summit Technical Solutions, LLC since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Strategic Systems at the same company from March 2021 to the present. Ed also worked as an Operations Training Specialist at Summit Technical Solutions from December 2018 to March 2021.
Before joining Summit Technical Solutions, Ed Mendones served in the USAF as a Transitioning Air Force Officer from July 2018 to December 2018. Ed also held various roles at the Air Force Global Strike Command, including Deputy Chief of Future Operations Division from January 2015 to October 2018, and ICBM Force Employment Branch Chief from April 2014 to January 2015.
In addition, Mendones served as the Commander and Director of Operations at the 341st Operations Support Squadron from June 2013 to April 2014 and July 2012 to June 2013, respectively. Ed also worked as an Executive Officer at the Headquarters Missile Defense Agency from January 2011 to June 2012.
Mendones gained legislative experience as the Air Force Legislative Fellow at the Office of Senator Johnny Isakson from July 2008 to January 2010. Ed provided defense recommendations and engaged in Congressional activities.
Earlier in their career, Mendones held positions such as Chief of Operations Training and Space Based Infrared System Flight Commander at the 460th Space Wing from August 2005 to July 2008, and Executive Officer at the 30th Space Wing from August 2004 to August 2005.
Furthermore, Mendones served as an Instructor and ICBM Test Operations Officer at the 576th Flight Test Squadron from March 2003 to August 2004 and from March 2002 to March 2003, respectively. Ed also worked as an ICBM Senior Crew Evaluator and ICBM Combat Crew Member at the 91st Space Wing from July 2001 to March 2002 and from May 1998 to July 2001, respectively.
Ed Mendones completed their Master's degree in Information Resource Management at Central Michigan University from 1999 to 2002. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University from 1992 to 1997. Ed also attended the Air Force Legislative Fellow program from 2008 to 2010 and the Air War College until 2016.
