Jason Garner

Jason Garner has a diverse work experience in software development and technical leadership roles. Jason is currently serving as the Principal Software Developer at Summitt Energy since February 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at SOTI from October 2019 to January 2020. Jason also owned their own consulting company, Corvaxia Consulting, from October 2018 to October 2019, where they developed an enhanced API framework for Summitt Energy and built an authentication, authorization, and menuing API for JB Merchandising.

From 2016 to 2019, Jason worked at Summitt Energy as a Software Architect and Senior Software Developer, where they played a key role in architecting and developing an application framework for new API and service development. Jason also served as the principal developer for prospect, pricing, and usage APIs. Before that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bluesun Inc. from October 2015 to May 2016, where they enhanced and optimized the Call Centre API and assisted with PCI compliance for a partner organization.

In their earlier career, Jason worked as a Technical Team Lead and Senior Programmer Analyst at Direct Energy from 2010 to 2015. Jason also worked as a Technical Consultant at Quadrus Development Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Senior Programmer Analyst at Teck Resources Limited, where they served from 2007 to 2008, and as a Programmer Analyst from 2001 to 2007.

Overall, Jason has demonstrated expertise in software development, architecture, API frameworks, security implementations, and technical leadership throughout their work experience.

Jason Garner attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1999 to 2001, where they earned an Engineering Technology Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology. Then, in 2006, they enrolled at the University of Calgary and obtained a Certificate in .NET Systems Development in 2007. Additionally, Jason has a certification as a Microsoft Certified Programmer from Microsoft, although the specific date of attainment is unknown.
