Juliane Dervaux has a diverse range of work experience. Juliane began their career as an Intern at UPBRI - Laboratory of Cathrin Brisken - EPFL, where they focused on hormonal control in breast cancer proliferation. Juliane then served as a Teaching Assistant in Programmation I (C++) at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne.
Juliane also worked as a Project Manager and Co-Manager of the Translation Division at Junior Entreprise EPFL, an engineering consulting firm run entirely by students. Juliane was responsible for managing innovative projects and utilizing the expertise of EPFL students for the benefit of clients.
Juliane later completed a semester project at the Laboratory of Sensory Processing (LSENS), analyzing membrane potential data from different mouse neocortical cell-types during whisker-related sensorimotor behaviors.
Moving into the technology industry, Juliane worked as a Software Engineer Intern at SLIMS by Genohm, where they gained experience in software development. Juliane then joined the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne as a Technology Licensing Opportunities Redactor, focusing on patent drafting and intellectual property management.
Juliane's passion for bioinformatics led their to take on the role of Master Thesis Student at HUG - Geneva University Hospitals. Juliane developed an AI-based tool to diagnose and prognose respiratory diseases from recorded lung sounds, collaborating with EPFL and the NGO Terre des hommes.
After their master's thesis, Juliane became the Acting CEO and Project Leader at Biopsomic. Juliane was responsible for moving the project from proof-of-concept to validation phases by defining core strategies for business and product development, as well as promoting the project in start-up competitions and events.
Most recently, they worked as a Software Engineer at Debiotech SA, where they honed their software development skills. Currently, Juliane is employed as a Bioinformatics Engineer at SUN bioscience, utilizing their expertise in bioinformatics.
Juliane Dervaux completed their education at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Juliane earned a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences and Technologies from 2014 to 2017, with a specialization in Bio-Engineering. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Life Sciences and Computational Sciences Engineering from 2017 to 2020, achieving a commendable score of 5.41/6. Additionally, Juliane obtained several certifications, including "Innosuisse Business Creation Biotech" from Venturelab in June 2021, and a "Masters in Life Sciences Engineering and Computational Sciences" from EPFL in August 2020.
