Marissa Fread

Marissa Fread is an experienced director in experience design strategy and digital customer experience, currently working at Sun Life since March 2016. In the role of Director, Experience Design Strategy, Marissa has developed a measurement framework for assessing experience design practices and collaborated on principles to guide design efforts globally. Previously, Marissa served as Director, Digital Customer Experience, where a Design Thinking Lab was created to demonstrate the value of user-centered design, alongside forming a DesignOps practice. Prior to Sun Life, Marissa worked at BlackBerry for almost 16 years in various managerial roles, notably leading the redesign of global websites and managing significant projects that improved efficiency and user experience. Marissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English with a minor in Psychology from the University of Waterloo.
