Abhay Gandhi

Abhay Gandhi has a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry, with extensive experience in various leadership roles.

Since 2022, Abhay Gandhi has been serving as a Board Member for the Association for Accessible Medicines.

Prior to that, from 2012 to the present, they have held several key positions at SUN PHARMA, including CEO - North America, Wholetime Director & CEO, and President - Marketing & Sales. In their role as President - Marketing & Sales, they were responsible for the business operations of the India vertical, overseeing 38 strategic business units and the subcontinent markets with a combined turnover of $1.3 billion.

Additionally, Abhay Gandhi has held leadership positions at Taro Pharmaceuticals as Vice Chairman of the Board since 2017 and at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Abhay served as the Executive Vice President - International from 2007 to 2012.

Before joining Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., they held various roles including Sr Vice President - International Marketing, Vice President - Sales and Marketing, General Manager - Sales and Marketing, and DGM - Marketing from 1995 to 2007.

Abhay Gandhi began their career at Boehringer Mannheim in 1988 as Sr Product Manager.

With a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Abhay Gandhi has demonstrated expertise in leadership and business operations.

Abhay Gandhi completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Bhavans College from 1981 to 1984. Abhay then pursued a Master's degree in Marketing from SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), graduating in 1989. Following this, they completed a degree in Finance from ICFAI, with a specialization in Development Banking and Financial Services, from 1989 to 1991.
