Steve Barnes

Steve Barnes serves as President and Member of SunCoast Angels since February 2022 and member of Brisbane Angels Group Limited since May 2022. Additionally, Steve holds advisory roles on the boards of Faiā and YouLi, and previously served as a board member for IoTStream. From February 2021 to June 2025, Steve is a member of Melbourne Angels Inc, and from April 2019 to June 2025, Steve undertakes an interim executive role with Future Fund. Steve previously held a significant position as Chief Operating Officer at IRESS Market Technology from April 2012 to September 2017, overseeing global operations and client services during a phase of considerable company growth. Educationally, Steve completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2018, an MBA at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in 1997, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus on Journalism at Charles Sturt University in 1983.
