John Richardson

Director Of Technology at SunCoke Energy

John Richardson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John is currently the Director of Technology at SunCoke Energy, starting in September 2021. Prior to this, from 2017 to 2021, they worked at Arkema, where they held multiple roles. John was the North American R&D and Process Technology Manager from January 2020 to September 2021 and the Principal Process Technology Engineer from March 2017 to January 2020.

Before their time at Arkema, John worked at Shell from 2008 to 2017. John'sroles at Shell included being the Site Energy Focal Point and Utility Volume Analyst Supervisor from January 2016 to March 2017, a Process Engineer in the enhanced problem-solving team for lower olefins from January 2014 to December 2015, an Engineer in Process Evaluations from January 2011 to January 2014, and a Research Engineer at CRI/Criterion Inc. from January 2008 to December 2010.

Prior to their industry experience, John was a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology from August 2003 to January 2008. John also worked as a Guest Researcher at NIST for Holcim Inc. as part of an undergraduate co-op assignment from June 1999 to August 2000. During this time, they focused on developing fundamental reaction characteristics for computer model development of cement hydration reactions.

John Richardson completed their education in Chemical Engineering. John obtained a Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University from 2002 to 2003. John'sundergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering were also at Tennessee Technological University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree from 1996 to 2001.
