Aruna Sood

Aruna Sood is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in the oil sands industry, currently serving as a Specialist Development Engineer at Suncor since March 2014. Sood's roles at Suncor have included Manager of Tailings Development and Mid-Range Mine and Tailings Planning, as well as leading the technical mine planning team. Prior to Suncor, Sood worked at Total E&P as a Senior Mining Engineer, focusing on mine and tailings planning, and led engineering studies for green field projects. Earlier experience includes a position as a Mining Engineer at Norwest Corporation, where Sood contributed to various projects related to coal and oil sands. A graduate of The University of British Columbia with a B.A.Sc. in Mining Engineering, Sood brings a strong technical background and leadership skills to the field.
