Bruni Burres is an experienced professional in the documentary and human rights film sectors, currently serving as a Senior Consultant for the Sundance Institute's Documentary Program since January 2006, focusing on emerging filmmakers from underrepresented regions and expanding human rights narratives. Burres co-leads the Close Up Initiative for SWANA Artists, promoting media-driven social change and peace building. Previous roles include consulting for the Open Society Foundations on the intersection of arts, national security, and human rights, serving as Executive Producer at the International Center for Transitional Justice, and directing film festivals at Human Rights Watch. Bruni holds a Master in Professional Studies from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College/Columbia University.
