Mathilde Lugger has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mathilde began their career as an intern in microcredits at Grameen Bank in 2011, where they learned about their microfinance system and the role of different departments. Mathilde then worked as a Projects Manager at Financière de l'Echiquier for a few months in 2011. In 2014, Mathilde interned at UNAIDS as an Assistant in the Programme Planning and Performance Measurement Division, where they analyzed indicators and financial information and developed new reporting tools. Mathilde also advised on the organization's civil society engagement and the elaboration of their SDGs framework.

Later in 2014, Mathilde worked as a Project Analyst Intern at the European Commission's EuropeAid - Policy and Coherence Unit. Here, they advised on the selection of development indicators for fund allocation and audited internal programs for policy coherence. In 2015, they joined the World Bank as a Private Sector Development Analyst, where they collected trade indicators data in 54 countries and contributed to the development of a new methodology for Trading Across Borders indexes. Mathilde also advised governments on improving their trade environment and co-authored a chapter in the 2016 Doing Business report.

From 2016 to 2019, Mathilde worked at Gallup as a Research Program Manager for the World Poll Francophone Africa. Mathilde'srole involved supervising data collection in 20 francophone African countries for the global Gallup World Poll initiative. In 2019, they joined the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics as a Business Development Consultant until their departure in 2020. After that, Mathilde worked at Common Thread as a People and Project Manager from 2020 to 2021. Finally, they joined Sunday in 2021 and held positions as the Head of People and Culture and currently serves as the Chief People Officer.

Mathilde Lugger pursued their education in various fields and institutions. Mathilde started their academic journey in 2007 at Louis le Grand, where they completed their Preparatory School education. Later, in 2009, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Social Entrepreneurship Chaire from ESSEC Business School. In 2012, they continued their studies at the University of Mannheim, specializing in Public Services and Nonprofit Management. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in European Economic Studies with a specialization in European Business Integration at the College of Europe from 2013 to 2014. Mathilde further expanded their knowledge by enrolling in a part-time Master's program in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, they deepened their understanding of Mindfulness Meditation through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program offered by the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley, between 2020 and 2023.
