Derek Ivie

Derek Ivie has extensive work experience in environmental compliance and management. Derek currently holds the role of Director of Environmental Compliance at SunEnergy1 since April 2022. Prior to that, they were the Owner of Ivie Investments, LLC starting from March 2019. From 2015 to 2022, they worked as an Environmental Compliance Manager at Ferrovial Construction US & Canada. Before that, from December 2013 to February 2015, they held the same role at Ferrovial Agroman US Corp., Bluebonnet Contractors, LLC. Derek also worked as a Senior Environmental Scientist at VRX, Inc. from May 2008 to December 2013. Derek began their career as a Natural Resource Specialist at the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they worked from 2000 to 2008.

Derek Ivie began their education at Navarro College, where they pursued an Associate of Science degree from 1998 to 2000. Derek then transferred to Texas A&M University, where they studied Wildlife Ecology and Management from 2000 to 2003, specializing in the field of Wildlife and Fisheries.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Derek has obtained certifications in the field. In April 2014, they received the certification of Certified Wildlife Biologist from The Wildlife Society. In October 2010, they obtained the ISA-Certified Arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture.
