Thomas Windisch

Thomas Windisch is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the fields of mechatronics and electrical engineering. Windisch served as Gruppenleiter Antriebsstrangakustik at Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik IWU from June 2020 to April 2023, following a position as Wissenschaftler at the same institution from January 2017 to June 2020. Prior to these roles, Windisch was a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Technische Universität Dresden from July 2009 to December 2016. Currently, Windisch is a Senior Engineer for Leistungselektronik at Sunfire, having previously led a team at IAV from April 2023 to August 2025. Windisch holds a Diplom-Ingenieur in Mechatronik from Technische Universität Dresden, an Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree from ESIEE Paris, and a Dr.-Ing. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Technische Universität Dresden.
