Patrick Mathiesen

Patrick Mathiesen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Patrick is currently working at Sunnova Energy as the Director of Digital Products since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Solar Fleet Performance at Sunnova Energy from June 2021 to March 2023. Before joining Sunnova Energy, Patrick worked as a Senior Engineer at XENDEE from October 2019 to June 2021. Patrick also served as a Senior Scientist at DNV GL from February 2015 to September 2019. Patrick's experience includes working as a Heat Transfer Engineer at Daikin Applied from February 2014 to February 2015. Patrick began their professional journey as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego from September 2009 to February 2014. Patrick also worked as a Solar Forecasting Intern at GL Garrad Hassan from September 2011 to December 2013. Patrick started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from August 2007 to September 2008. Prior to that, Patrick gained industry experience as an Application Engineering Intern at Horton, Inc. from September 2006 to August 2007.

Patrick Mathiesen has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Engineering Sciences) from UC San Diego, which they completed from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned an M.S. in Engineering Sciences (Mechanical Engineering) from UC San Diego between 2009 and 2010. Patrick completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, receiving a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from 2005 to 2009.
