Saira Saeed Mirza is a Clinical Research Associate at Sunnybrook and a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto since March 2016. Trained in Medicine, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics, Saira has a strong background in research disciplines including Neurosciences, Psychiatry, and Epidemiology, with a focus on dementia, stroke, cerebral small vessel disease, cognitive neuropsychology of aging, healthy aging, and the genetics of neurological and psychiatric diseases. Prior experience includes a position as a Scientific Researcher and PhD scholar at Erasmus Medical University from April 2012 to February 2016 and as a Lecturer and researcher at Dow University of Health Sciences from April 2007 to March 2012, where Saira taught and supervised undergraduate medical students. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and a Master’s in Genetic Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam, an MPhil in Physiology from Dow University of Health Sciences, and an MBBS from Dow Medical College.
