Sally Bean

Sally Bean has over 14 years of work experience in the field of health ethics and policy. Sally began their career in 2008 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where they held various roles including Clinical & Research Ethicist and Senior Ethicist & Policy Advisor. In 2013, they joined the Research Ethics Board at Sunnybrook, serving as Ethicist-Member Alternate. In 2012, they also became an Ethicist-Member at the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board. Sally has also been involved in academia, serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto and York University. Sally has been an Associate Member at the University of Toronto's School of Graduate Studies and an Adjunct Lecturer at the University's Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Sally's work experience also includes a fellowship at the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics. Throughout their career, Sally has been dedicated to the study and application of ethics in healthcare.

Sally Bean has a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical & Organizational Ethics from the University of Toronto (2006-2008). Sally also has a JD in Law from West Virginia University College of Law (2003-2006) and an MA in Bioethics & Public Policy from George Mason University (2001-2003). Sally'sundergraduate degree is a BA in English & Philosophy from the University of Mary Washington (1996-2000). Additionally, they have obtained certifications in various areas of research ethics, including Health Canada Division 5 - Drugs for Clinical Trials Involving Human Subjects, Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2) Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans, Protecting Human Research Participants, and Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP). Sally also completed continuing education in Creative Writing at Stanford University (2012-2013).
