Michael Brent

Michael Brent is currently a board member at Sunnyfield, and was previously with Suncorp Group from June 2012 to December 2017, where they were manager of financial control. Prior to that they were with Home, and before that with General Reinsurance Australia Ltd from September 1988 to February 2012, where they worked their way up from regional controller, Asia Pacific, to chief financial officer and risk management officer. Among their many responsibilities were all finance and accounting functions; strategy and planning with the CEO, Board and senior management; developing strategies, policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements; premises management; IT management; APRA prudential standards and related policies; investment management; and liaison with investment managers and custodians.

Michael Brent's educational career includes completing a Bachelor of Financial Administration at the University of New England in Australia, as well as studying finance and life at St Alberts College. Michael also attended The Armidale School.
