Karl Fails

Karl Fails is the current Chief Operations Officer at Sunoco. Karl has previous experience as an engineering and project development director, process contact engineer, and engineering intern.

Karl Fails began their career in 1997 as an engineering intern at Dow. Karl then interned at Phillips 66 the following year. In 1999, they became a process contact engineer at ExxonMobil. In 2000, they became the Engineering and Project Development Director at Valero Energy Corporation. Karl held this position until 2010 when they became the Chief Operations Officer at Sunoco.

Karl Fails has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
