Stephen Lassiter

Policy Director

Stephen Lassiter is an experienced policy director at Sunrun, actively advocating for solar and energy policies since January 2018, while also serving as a fellow at the Truman National Security Project since 2012. Previously, Stephen managed significant solar energy initiatives at NYSERDA, contributing to New York's goal of deploying three gigawatts of solar PV by 2023, and served as a graduate student consultant at GRID Alternatives, providing insights on community solar policy. Stephen's political experience includes roles such as foreign policy director for the O'Malley presidential campaign, senior legislative assistant to U.S. Representative Keith Ellison, and press secretary for Joe Garcia’s congressional campaign. Additionally, Stephen has a solid foundation in program coordination from the U.S. Department of State and teaching experience at Ramallah Friends School. Stephen holds a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University and has a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
