Lana Smith

Lana Smith, CFA, CPA, CGA, currently serves as the Senior Director of Financial Analysis and Decision Support for the BC Provincial Government as of August 2023, while also holding the position of Manager of Financial Planning at Sunshine Coast Regional District since September 2022. Previous roles include Fiscal Planning Analyst and Debt Analyst within various departments of the BC Provincial Government from December 2016 to September 2022 and November 2014 to November 2016, respectively. Lana also worked as a Senior Natural Gas Pricing Analyst at the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas from January 2013 to November 2014 and gained early career experience as an Accountant at Judy Mcphee & Co. and as an Energy Trader and Commodities and Derivatives Trader at TransAlta and RBC Capital Markets, respectively. Lana holds a CFA designation from the CFA Institute, as well as CPA and CGA designations from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of Calgary.
