Jim Barber

Jim Barber has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. Jim has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Starting in 1999, Jim worked at SunTrust Bank as an Associate for a year and a half. Following that, they joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2001, where they served as an Associate I in the Software Lending Team until 2002. Jim was then promoted to Associate II in the Special Assets division, where they stayed until 2004.

In 2006, Jim moved on to Conformity Corporation, where they held the position of Director of Finance for two and a half years. Following this, they joined Fifth Third Bank in 2011 as a Portfolio Manager and later became a Credit Officer for Middle Market and Renewable Energy Finance. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of Credit Officer for Renewable Energy Finance and held this position until 2020.

Jim then joined Wunder in 2020 as the Lead Director of Credit & Underwriting, a position they held for two years. Jim was then promoted to the role of Lead Director of Project Investments, which they held until 2023.

Currently, Jim is the Vice President of Credit at Sunstone Credit, where they have been working since mid-2023.

Jim Barber attended R J Reynolds High School from 1992 to 1995, where they did not earn a degree or specialize in any field of study. Jim then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1995 to 1999. In 2004, Jim enrolled at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance, General, which they finished in 2006.
