Jay Barksdale is an experienced government relations professional currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Sunwest Communications since December 2020 and as the Executive Vice President of Government Relations at The Davis Advocates, LLC since November 2015. In these roles, Jay leads legislative advocacy efforts in Texas, focusing on economic, transportation, natural resources, and healthcare policy issues. Prior to these positions, Jay held significant roles at the Dallas Regional Chamber, leading public policy initiatives, and at Dallas Area Rapid Transit, where responsibilities included federal and state relations management and community engagement. Jay started the career as a Field Representative for U.S. Representative Martin Frost. Barksdale holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas State University.
