Mary Jones, BSW, CT has extensive work experience in the field of hospice and palliative care. Mary started their career in 1995 as a Hospice Social Worker at Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, where they provided support to patients and their families until 1997. In 1994, they worked as a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at the same organization.
From 1997 to 2013, Mary served as the Hospice Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, where they provided counseling and support to individuals who had lost a loved one. In 2007, they were promoted to the role of Director of Family Support Services, overseeing the delivery of support services to hospice patients and their families.
Mary also has experience in the educational field. Since 2007, they have been working as an Adjunct Instructor for the Department of Public Health and Human Performance at SUNY Potsdam.
Before their career in hospice care, Mary worked as a Library Program Coordinator at Marin County Free Library from 1985 to 1991. Prior to that, they served as the Office Manager/Transportation Dispatcher at Marin Senior Coordinating Council from 1983 to 1985.

Mary Jones has a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Chapman University, which they completed from 1979 to 1982. Prior to that, they attended Oregon State University from 1977 to 1979, where they studied Sociology but did not obtain a degree. Mary also graduated from San Rafael High School in 1977. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in the field of thanatology from the Association of Death Education and Counseling in December 2004, as well as in the Manager Development Program - Level 1 & 2 from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in July 2014.
