Jesús Gumbau, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. In 2006, they worked as a Computer Graphics Developer for the GameTools European Project. From 2011 to 2016, they served as a Computer Graphics Researcher at the institute of new imaging technologies. In 2012, they joined the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón as a Post-doctoral computer graphics researcher. During this time, they also co-founded Gamesonomy and served as the Chief Technology Officer. In 2016, Jesús Gumbau joined CONFETTI Interactive, Inc. as a Graphics Programmer, where they developed cutting-edge 3D graphics algorithms and techniques, optimized GPU/shader performance, and worked on multi-platform graphics frameworks. Currently, starting from 2020, they are employed by Super Evil Megacorp as a Senior Rendering Engineer, focusing on multi-platform game engine development and shader programming for their game Catalyst Black.

Jesús Gumbau, PhD earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Graphics from Universitat Jaume I, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. Prior to this, they completed their Ingeniero degree in Informática at the same university, from 1998 to 2004.
