Randy Phillips, Ph.D., PE

Randy Phillips, Ph.D., PE has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Randy currently serves as the Director of Fermentation Technology at White Dog Labs, Inc. since December 2015, where they oversee the development and implementation of fermentation processes.

Prior to this role, Randy worked as a Process Consultant at J. R. Phillips, starting in September 2015. In this position, they provided expert guidance and advice on various process-related matters.

From 2010 to 2015, Randy held multiple roles at Oklahoma State University. As a Post Doc, they focused on concept development, experimental design and execution for a novel process control of syngas fermentation. Randy also conducted operations, analysis, and model development to advance commercial operation. Additionally, Randy made significant contributions through presentations, publications, and patent applications. Previously, as a Research Engineer, they contributed to various projects involving the design and analysis of biochemical processes.

Prior to joining Oklahoma State University, Randy served as the Engineering Manager at Ineos Bio from July 2008 to September 2009. In this capacity, they managed engineering activities and operations.

Before that, Randy served as the Manager of Engineering at Bioengineering Resources, Inc. from March 1998 to July 2008, where they played a crucial role in the design, procurement, construction, start-up, and operating support of an integrated pilot plant. The plant converted biomass to synthesis gas and produced ethanol, utilizing the principles and practices of synthesis gas fermentation.

Randy began their career as a Process Engineer at S & B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd. from January 1981 to August 1986. Randy was responsible for petrochemical process design and worked collaboratively with clients and various engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.

Throughout their career, Randy has demonstrated a strong background in process design, project management, and technical expertise in fermentation technology.

Randy Phillips, Ph.D., PE, earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biosystems Engineering from Oklahoma State University from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, attending from 1986 to 1994.

In addition to their degrees, Randy Phillips also holds a Professional Engineer certification from the Arkansas State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors. Randy obtained this certification in July 2003.
