Art Producer | Squad Busters at Supercell

Ken Taya has a diverse work experience in the gaming and entertainment industry. Ken started their career at Zombie Studios in 2002 as an artist. From there, they worked at Nintendo and Monolith Productions as an artist and world artist respectively. In 2006, they joined Bungie as an environment artist before moving on to 5TH Cell Media as a senior environment artist in 2011. In 2013, they became a mobile 2D/3D artist at DoubleDown Interactive.

In 2015, Taya joined NC2 Media as an art director, where they worked on art directing a new mobile gaming and advertising platform. Ken stayed with the company until 2017 when they joined Supercell as a merch artist for their online shop. There, they developed a line-up of high-quality merch for their live games and also worked on licensed products.

Taya's next role at Supercell was in IP development for their Everdale Game Team, where they played a key role in ideating and shaping a new IP for the team. Ken held the vision for IP development and made creative decisions to position the Everdale IP. After that, they transitioned into a marketing artist role at Supercell In House where they contributed to various marketing initiatives.

Currently, Taya holds the position of Licensing Art Director | Entertainment & Partnerships at Supercell since May 2023. This summary showcases their career progression and the wide range of roles they have held in the gaming and entertainment industry.

Ken Taya attended Digipen from 2001 to 2003 but did not obtain a degree or specialize in a specific field of study during that time. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1999, they attended the University of Washington, where they obtained a degree in Japanese with a focus on Linguistics.

Additionally, in 2023, Ken Taya obtained two certifications. Ken completed the "Writing Video Game Characters" certification from The University of British Columbia in February 2023, and the "Worldbuilding for Video Games" certification from the same institution in January 2023.
