Rob Bekuhrs

Animation Director at Supergenius

Rob Bekuhrs has worked in the animation industry for over 30 years. Rob began their career in 1987 as a CG Artist at Movietime, followed by a role as a CG Artist at Kroyer Films in 1988. In 1989 they joined Walt Disney Feature Animation as a Computer Animation Supervisor and Animator, where they worked on various feature and commercial projects, including The Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, My Peoples, and three Roger Rabbit shorts. In 2004 they moved to The Church of Righteous Effects as an Animation Lead, and then to Starz in 2005 as a Senior Animator. In 2006 they returned to Laika as an Animator, and in 2010 they joined Double Negative as an Animator on John Carter of Mars. In 2012 they became Animation Director at Supergenius Studio, supervising crews and animating and creating tools for action/adventure titles, such as Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, Broken Age, Skylanders, Family Guy, and Spellslingers. In 2019 they joined Audible, Inc. as an Audiobook Narrator, completing one book for Amazon's Audible book distribution.

Rob Bekuhrs received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Character Animation - traditional from the California Institute of the Arts in 1983. Prior to that, they attended Colorado Mountain College from 1978 to 1979, studying Design and Behavioral Science.
