Alexis Fetzer Sharp currently serves as the State Law Librarian at the Supreme Court of Virginia since October 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Library Manager at McGuireWoods LLP from December 2021 to October 2023, Reference Librarian at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP from April 2017 to November 2021, and Reference & Research Services Librarian at the University of Richmond from June 2013 to April 2017. Alexis began a career in law libraries as a Law Library Fellow and Legal Research Instructor at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center from July 2010 to May 2013, and briefly worked as a Summer Law Clerk at Stockwell, Sievert, Viccellio, Clements & Shaddock, LLP in May 2010. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University (2011-2013), a Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law from LSU Law (2008-2011), and a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in French and Political Science from Louisiana State University (2004-2008).
