Richard Winget

Richard Winget has held various positions in the software engineering and development field since 1996. Richard began their career with the Utah National Guard as a Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, where they served in Iraq from 2004 to 2005. In 2000, they joined Open Solutions as a Software Engineer, where they resolved over 2,000 client impacting issues and increased customer satisfaction through quality design and implementation of customer requested enhancements. In 2010, they became a Senior QA Automation Engineer at AccessData, where they implemented an agile development process and increased automation test stability. In 2011, they moved to Novarad as a Senior Software Developer, where they increased test coverage by developing a comprehensive automation framework and enhanced client security by creating a site specific user access system. In 2015, they joined Imagine Learning as a Staff Engineer, where they were promoted to Senior Software Engineer after demonstrating measurable proficiencies in engineering and leadership. In 2021, they moved to Optilogic as a Senior Developer, where they increased user retention though visualizations by integrating a dashboarding service, increased user efficiency by allowing them to run multiple solves with one call, and allowed the company to gain more revenue by warning users when their cloud storage is approaching capacity. Currently, they are employed at Suralink as a Sr. Software Engineer.

Richard Winget obtained a Bachelor of Science in IT - Software Emphasis from Western Governors University in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained an AAS in Computer Information Systems from Snow College in 2000. Richard also has a number of certifications, including a Perl Specialist from CIW in 2013, a Web Development Professional from CIW in 2013, a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist - Windows 7, Configuring from Microsoft in 2013, an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer in 2012, a Project+ from CompTIA in 2012, a JavaScript Specialist from CIW in 2012, a Database Design Specialist from CIW in 2011, a Web Design Specialist from CIW in 2011, an A+ CE from CompTIA in 2011, and a Security+ CE from CompTIA in 2011.
