Senior Agile Product Owner at Surescripts

Andy Jewell has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Andy began their career at IBM in 1989 as a Software Engineer and worked there for almost 10 years. Andy then joined GemStone Systems as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, where they designed, developed, and executed test applications for object application servers. After that, Andy worked at Aladdin Knowledge Systems as a Software Development Manager and Senior Software Engineer.

In 2002, they took on the role of Software Development Manager at Portland State University. Subsequently, they worked for ADP Dealer Services as a Software Technical Support Engineer before moving to McAfee in 2006. At McAfee, Andy held various positions, including Scrum Master, QA Manager, and Senior QA Engineer, where they managed, executed, and evaluated testing efforts for enterprise security products using different development methodologies.

After their time at McAfee, Andy joined Tripwire (now a part of Belden) as a Lead/Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. There, they were responsible for testing efforts, test automation, scalability, and test planning for Tripwire Enterprise in a Scrum environment.

Lastly, Andy's most recent position has been at Surescripts, where they started as a Quality Assurance Engineer before being promoted to Agile Product Owner. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, they performed QA-related activities on a Scrum team, such as defining acceptance criteria, building automated testing frameworks, and executing test cases. Currently, as a Senior Agile Product Owner, they are responsible for overseeing the product development process and ensuring its alignment with agile methodologies.

Throughout their career, Andy has showcased expertise in testing, QA, software development, and product ownership, making him a valuable asset to any organization they work with.

Andy Jewell obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. In addition to their degree, Andy Jewell has attained additional certifications. Andy became a Certified Scrum Master in October 2012 from the Scrum Alliance and later obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification in April 2017, also from the Scrum Alliance.
