Freddy Pessel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development within eco-compatible chemistry. Currently serving as the R&D Manager at SurfactGreen since 2016, Freddy focuses on the design and synthesis of innovative, environmentally friendly surfactants for various markets, emphasizing performance and sustainability. Previous roles include a research engineer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes, where Freddy developed algae-derived surfactants and collaborated with industrial partners. Additional experience includes engaging the public in scientific concepts at the Palais de la découverte and conducting advanced chemical modifications and analyses at various research institutions. Freddy holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Paris-Sud University and an engineering degree from Ecole nationale supérieure de Chimie de Rennes.

Surfact'Green develops, produces and markets patented ecological surfactants from agro-resources such as algae or sugar beet co-products. A business unit of the same name was created in 2011 at the Rennes National School of Chemistry (ENSCR), based on the Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry team (UMR Sciences Chimiques de Rennes), which hasbeen working on these molecules since then. more than ten years. This business unit, supported by SATT Ouest Valorisation, has carried out works in collaboration with other public and private laboratories as well as several industrial companies interested in these surfactants.
