Jennifer Savage serves as the Senior Manager of the Plastic Pollution Initiative at The Surfrider Foundation since March 2022 and has been a freelance writer for North Coast Journal since 2007, covering various topics including arts, music, and environmental issues. From July 2021 to March 2022, Jennifer held the position of Policy & Communications Manager at the California Ocean Protection Council, focusing on marine and coastal conservation through community engagement and legislative tracking. Previously, Jennifer was California Policy Manager at Surfrider Foundation, Coastal Programs Director at Northcoast Environmental Center, and North Coast Coordinator for Ocean Conservancy, where significant contributions to marine conservation and public education were made. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Humboldt State University.
