Ebrahim Essop

Ebrahim Essop is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and management. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CTO at Surge Africa, Ebrahim is focused on developing a platform to simplify payments for small businesses and individuals across Africa. Previously, Ebrahim held the position of Head of Software Engineering at MFS Africa, leading teams in project management, information security, and vendor strategy. Ebrahim's career at Nedbank included various senior managerial roles in automation design and application development, overseeing the development for internet and mobile banking. Ebrahim's educational background includes an MBA and postgraduate diploma from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from the University of South Africa. Additionally, Ebrahim has a solid foundation in project management and systems analysis from earlier studies.
