Andrea Black Evans currently serves as the Executive Director of Surge Academy at the Surge Institute, focusing on enhancing diversity in education leadership. Prior experience includes the role of Program Director at Chicago Public Schools, where Andrea successfully transformed a school from Level 3 to Level 1 status within four years and secured over $1 million in grant funding through strategic partnerships. Additional positions held encompass School Principal, Assistant Principal, and various leadership roles within education, including contributions to Cambiar Education and Boston Public Schools. Andrea Black Evans holds a Master’s degree in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and African American History from Fisk University.
