Melissa Miavez

Melissa Miavez has extensive experience in accounting and finance. Melissa is currently working as the Senior Director of Accounting & Finance - North America at Surgical Science. Previously, they held the role of Controller, VP & School Fiscal Officer at Tatonka Education Services from May 2020 to February 2023. Before that, they worked at Massa Financial Solutions, LLC as an Accounting Manager from June 2015 to May 2020, where they were responsible for implementing GAAP changes, reviewing financial statements, and managing the audit process. From December 2013 to June 2015, they worked as a Senior Finance Manager at Epiphany Management Group, where they developed financial and operational metrics reporting and reviewed financial statements. Melissa also has experience as an Assistant Controller at Howard, Wershbale & Co. and as a Controller at Itran, Inc. In addition, they worked as an External Bookkeeper / Accountant at CBIZ Technologies, LLC and as a Staff Accountant at Ferraro, Higginbotham, & Hayes. Melissa's early career includes a role as a General Ledger Specialist / Accountant at Comdial.

Melissa Miavez obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Saint Leo University in 2016. In 2023, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. Additionally, in June 2023, Melissa obtained a certification as a School Treasurer from the Ohio Department of Education.
