Mert S.

Mert S. has a significant background in software development and research in the field of surgical simulation. Mert currently serves as the Vice President of R&D, Software Development at Surgical Science North America. Prior to this, Mert held the position of Senior Director of Software Development at Mimic Technologies Inc., where they led a team in delivering virtual reality products for training in robotic surgery. Mert also worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at Mimic Technologies, where they contributed to the development of various simulation prototypes and user interfaces. Mert's earlier experience includes research and teaching assistant roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Koç University, where they focused on topics such as tissue deformation simulation and computer haptics. Mert gained industry experience as a software developer intern at Havelsan during their undergraduate years.

Mert S. has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering from Koç University, obtained between the years 2000 and 2005. Mert then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computational Science and Engineering at Koç University from 2005 to 2007. Later, they completed another Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2007 and 2009. In addition to their education, Mert S. holds certifications in Leadership Training for Managers from Dale Carnegie Training Washington and Psychology- and Neuroscience-based Leadership Development from Pathwise Leadership.
