Mariam Hazhir currently serves as a Post-Secondary Curriculum Developer and Board member at Partnership-Afghanistan Canada, focusing on teaching research and developing biology lessons in Farsi for an M-learning audio platform. Since September 2017, Mariam has been a Secondary Science Teacher and Department Head at Surrey Schools, while also contributing as a Curriculum Developer and Teacher Lead for Farsi dar BC, a campaign advocating for Persian as a second language in British Columbia schools. Previously, Mariam worked as a Tuum Est Fund Student Advisor at The University of British Columbia, where advocacy for international and domestic students was a key responsibility. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Critical Theory and a minor in Microbiology from The University of British Columbia, a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University, and ongoing pursuit of a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration at Yorkville University.
