Kristofer Stensland

Kristofer Stensland has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kristofer started their career as a Fuel Dock Attendant at Fishermen's Supply, where they served fuel, bait, and ice to supply boats and helped organize and preserve bait.

Kristofer then transitioned to the technology industry, working as a Lead Developer at MegsRadio.FM, a music streaming and recommendation system. Here, they designed and implemented the frontend, backend, and database of the browser app using MySQL, jQuery, Python, and the Pylons framework.

Afterwards, Kristofer worked as a Student Network Service Technician and a Network Security Intern at Ithaca College. In these roles, they developed custom PHP and Python applications for the network security team and built a web app for campus professionals to request protected information using Node.js and jQuery.

Following their time at Ithaca College, Kristofer joined AFM Technologies as a Web Development Intern. Kristofer created proof-of-concepts for budget management software used by pharmaceutical companies.

Kristofer's next role was as a Software Engineer at BIOVIA, where they contributed to the development of CISPro, a lab inventory and chemical lifecycle product used by Fortune 500 companies. Kristofer worked with the .NET framework and Oracle database to build a browser-based web application.

Continuing their career in software engineering, Kristofer joined SurveyMonkey as a Software Engineer, later progressing to the role of Senior Software Engineer. Kristofer worked on the SurveyMonkey Audience and Contribute products, internationalizing and localizing existing products, and implementing a scalable incentive model for the SurveyMonkey Rewards backend service.

Currently, Kristofer is an Engineering Manager at SurveyMonkey, leading the Market Research platform team. Kristofer has had various responsibilities, including project lead for a refactor of an outdated analysis product using AWS DynamoDB and API Gateway, and assisting with quarterly capacity planning.

Overall, Kristofer Stensland has a strong background in software engineering, with experience in backend development, project management, and team leadership.

Kristofer Stensland completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Computer Science at Ithaca College from 2010 to 2014. In 2013, they also participated in a Semester in Patagonia program at the National Outdoor Leadership School, focusing on Outdoor Education for a brief period.
