David Powell is a Mechanical Engineer with a robust background in defense-related engineering and academia. Since 2014, David has been with SURVICE Engineering, continuing work for the Army Research Laboratory. Prior to this role, David served at the Army Research Lab from 2010 to 2014, focusing on Soldier Protection Sciences and leading research on Soft Armor and Composite Modeling. David's academic experience includes teaching physics at UC Berkeley Extension in 2010 and conducting postdoctoral research at Stanford University from 2008 to 2010. David holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2003-2007) and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Dartmouth College (1999-2003).
