Paul Oliver

Chief Designer - Innovation, New Product Development And Future Capability at Survitec Group Limited

Paul Oliver has extensive work experience in the design and development of safety and survival equipment. Paul began their career at ML Lifeguard in 1988, where they worked as a Design Technician before progressing to roles such as Production Supervisor and Design Technical Assistant. During this time, they gained experience in managing the design, development, and qualification of various products, including marine safety equipment and aircrew gear. Paul also took on special projects, such as designing positive pressure air-supported domes. In 2000, Paul joined RFD Beaufort as a Design Manager, where they led a team in the design and development of advanced aircrew clothing and equipment for the Eurofighter Typhoon program. In 2006, they moved to Survitec as Chief Designer and played a key role in managing the design team and driving innovation in the aerospace and defense sector. Paul was later promoted to the role of Chief Designer - New Product Development and Innovation, where they managed a small team of designers and consultants focused on developing industry-disrupting ideas and collaborating with other companies in the Survitec Group. Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a passion for advancing safety and survival technologies.

Paul Oliver attended Rhyl High School from 1979 to 1983. In 1996, they attended Llandrillo Technical College where they studied Computer Aided Draughting and Design Using AutoCAD. In 1998, they went to Yale College - Wrexham to study Pattern cutting and garment construction. Paul Oliver completed their education at The Manchester Metropolitan University in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA (Hons)) Degree in Clothing with a specialization in Functional Clothing Design.
