Survivors of Torture, International
Hans Reihling, PhD, LMFT, serves as an Assistant Professor at The Chicago School since August 2021 and concurrently holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at MindfulRelations. With extensive experience in mental health therapy, Hans has provided services at Survivors of Torture, International, and previously at South Bay Community Services and YWCA USA. Hans also contributed to psycho-social rehabilitation at Community Research Foundation and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Amsterdam. Prior academic roles include university lecturer positions at Freie Universität Berlin and Charité - Berlin School of Public Health. Hans holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology and multiple degrees in counseling and anthropology from leading institutions in Germany and the United States.

Survivors of Torture, International was founded in 1997 to build a healing community for survivors of politically motivated torture living in San Diego County. SURVIVORS has served more than 3,000 torture survivors from 90 different countries.
