Ron C. Gaba M.D. M.S. is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Pathology, Division Head of Interventional Radiology, Vice Head for Research in the Department of Radiology, and Director of Medical Student Research at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. Dr. Gaba earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 2002, completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007, and trained in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University in 2008 before joining the University of Illinois Department of Radiology, Division of Interventional Radiology in 2008. Dr. Gaba also completed an M.S. degree in Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Illinois School of Public Health in 2019.

During his tenure at the University of Illinois, Dr. Gaba has maintained an active role in clinical service and patient care focused on the management of liver cancer using image-guided locoregional therapy, which has developed his clinical aptitude in multidisciplinary cancer care and management expertise for liver malignancies. Dr. Gaba’s funded research into large animal models for liver-related diseases, drug delivery, and genomics supports a solid track record for academic productivity, spanning more than 160 peer-reviewed literature publications. As part of his responsibilities for Sus Clinicals, Dr. Gaba promotes awareness of the Oncopig model, secures necessary medical and other experts to support clinical testing, and advises clients on test design and analysis.
