Brent Schroeder

Brent Schroeder is currently the CTO Americas at SUSE. Prior to this, they were with Quest Software (formerly Dell Software Group) from October 2016 to March 2017, where they served as a Senior Distinguished Engineer. In this role, they defined SaaS business opportunities for Quest to pursue, including both new product concepts and evolving legacy solutions into SaaS delivery models. Brent also partnered with Microsoft in utilizing Azure public cloud services in delivering Quest solutions. Additionally, they managed business investment funding from Microsoft to grow organizational resources.

Before Quest Software, Schroeder was with Dell for 18 years, from September 1998 to October 2016. During their time there, they held the title of Executive Director, Dell Software Group, Office of the CTO. In this role, they were responsible for developing multiple new business concepts that fueled future growth opportunities. This included market sizing, competitive analysis, and technical scoping. Brent also conducted customer reviews using story boarding and wire framing to ensure accurate requirements and business value assessment.

Prior to Dell, Schroeder was with NCR Corporation from January 1995 to September 1998 as the Director of Database Engineering.

Brent Schroeder has a BS in Computer Science from Iowa State University and a BS in Business Administration from Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business.
