Iwan Schaap is currently the Director of Metrology at SUSS, where they lead efforts in metrology. Previously, Iwan served as the Head of Engineering at HENSOLDT and as a Senior Director of R&D at TOPTICA Photonics. They have extensive experience in academia, having been an associate professor at Heriot-Watt University and a group leader at the University of Göttingen, where they focused on developing force spectroscopy techniques. Iwan completed their Master's degree in Molecular Biology/Virology at Utrecht University and earned a Ph.D. in Biophysics from VU University Amsterdam. Their career includes significant contributions to scientific research, evidenced by over 40 publications and numerous speaking engagements.
