Ali Fakih Ph.D., Pe, Ap

Ali Fakih, PhD, PE, LEED AP has a diverse work experience in the field of civil engineering and sustainability. Ali currently serves as a Member of the Development Review Board at the City of Scottsdale since December 2020. In 2008, they founded Sustainability Engineering Group, LLC (SEG) and has been the Chief Executive Officer since then. SEG is a civil engineering firm that focuses on using an environmentally conscious approach to building and offers services in sustainability investigation, planning, civil engineering, wastewater treatment, water resources, transportation, fuel piping engineering, LEED commissioning, and construction management. Prior to founding SEG, Ali Fakih worked as an Engineer at SSOE from 2004 to 2007 and as a Project Manager at Mountain Vista Marketplace in 2007. Ali has also served as a Commissioner on the Planning Commission City of Scottsdale from 2014 to 2020 and as a Member at the City of Scottsdale from 2011 to 2014. Furthermore, they held the position of Past President at the Arizona Association of Environmental Professionals in 2012-2013.

Ali Fakih, PhD, PE, LEED AP has an extensive education history in the fields of sustainability, transportation, and construction management. Ali pursued their doctoral studies in Sustainability/Transportation at Arizona State University from 2010 to 2017. Prior to their doctoral studies, Ali obtained a Master's degree in Construction Management from Lawrence Technological University, which they completed in 2005. With their diverse educational background, Ali Fakih brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their professional pursuits.
