Hendrik Garz has a strong background in financial research and strategy. Hendrik started their career in 1992 as an Assistant Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, where they focused on banking and financial markets. In 1997, they joined WestLB as an Analyst in Equity Strategy and Asset Allocation. Hendrik then moved to WestLB Panmure in 1999, where they worked as a Senior Equity Strategist. In 2003, they returned to WestLB as the Head of German Equity Strategy & SRI and later became the Head of Extra-Financial Research, serving as an Executive Director. In 2012, Garz joined Sustainalytics as the Global Head of Methodology and a Member of the Global Executive Board.
Hendrik Garz completed their education with a Phd. in Finance from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1992 to 1999. Hendrik also holds a Master of Arts - MA in Banking & Finance from The University of Georgia, which they obtained from 1990 to 1991. Prior to that, they attended Bielefeld University from 1987 to 1990, where they received a B.A. in Economic, Business Administration. Lastly, they completed a Bankkaufmann degree in Banking from WestLB between 1985 and 1987.
