Koen Buisman

Koen Buisman has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Their most recent role was as the COO of Sustainer, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Ultimaker for several years, where they held various roles. From March 2021 to May 2022, they were the SVP of Program Management and Strategy Execution, leading strategic projects and overseeing the management system. From May 2020 to March 2021, they served as the SVP of Printers and Peripherals, responsible for the R&D team and the portfolio of printers and peripherals. From September 2017 to May 2020, they held the position of Director of Program Management, leading cross-functional teams in the realization of total solutions.

Before their time at Ultimaker, Koen worked at Nederlandse Spoorwegen from 2010 to 2017. During this period, they held several roles including Sr. Project Manager, Business Consultant, and Operations Manager. Koen was responsible for improving reliability in case of incidents, designing logistical concepts, and leading cultural shifts.

Earlier in their career, Koen had internship roles at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, where they conducted research on leadership and conflict, and at ING Bank, where they developed and tested an instrument for service quality. Koen also had an internship at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., where they contributed to the application for the Indian Quality prize.

Koen Buisman's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Twente from 2002 to 2008.
