Vikas Patil

Vikas Patil has a diverse range of work experience spanning several companies and roles. Vikas began their career at Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. as a Trainee in 2011, where they gained knowledge about pumps, reformer technology, furnaces, catalytic reactors, and prilling towers. In 2012, they worked as a Summer Intern at IndoRama Synthetics(I) Ltd., where they surveyed manufacturing literature and provided technical support for unsafe processes.

Patil then moved on to Arizona State University, where they held multiple roles including Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Teaching Aide. Vikas gained experience in operating various laboratory equipment, preparing media and buffer solutions, and mentoring students in projects related to chemical reactor design, process control and dynamics, and modern separations.

In 2015, Patil joined Manus Biosynthesis as a Research Associate-Bioprocess Development, where they conducted experiments, optimized processes, and reported findings to support research projects. Vikas then transitioned to Manus Bio as a Fermentation Process Development Engineer II and later as a Senior Process Development Engineer. In these roles, they supervised teams, optimized fermentation processes, and supported commercialization and product development efforts.

From 2021 to 2022, Patil worked at Nektar Therapeutics as a Scientist II and later as a Senior Scientist in Biologics Process Development. Their responsibilities included leading process development for protein production, assisting in protein purification process development, and facilitating tech transfer to CMOs and CROs.

Currently, Patil is a Senior Scientist at Sutro Biopharma, Inc., where they specialize in upstream process development.

Vikas Patil completed their PhD in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University, where they also received additional certifications in biosafety and bloodborne pathogens training, hazardous waste management training, and laboratory safety training in October 2013. Vikas completed their Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from VIT Pune from 2009 to 2013.
