Nicholas Valencia is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in accounting and auditing. Currently serving as Treasurer-Tax Collector and previously holding the position of Accountant at Sutter County since August 2021, Nicholas has demonstrated financial management expertise. Prior to this role, Nicholas worked as an Auditor for the California State Auditor from August 2019 to August 2021, and served as an Accountant at the California Department of Toxic Substances Control for a brief period in early 2019. Nicholas’ career in accounting began at the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), where an Accounting role was held from May 2017 to December 2018. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State University-Sacramento and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Yuba College, along with a high school education from Yuba City High School.
